The Samarkand collection is the result of European influence united with the craftsmanship of Turkmen tribes. These carpets have unique designs and found their inspiration from old & antique oriental carpets. The centuries of knowledge of Turkmen knotters can be found within each crafted carpet. The wool comes from the high mountains in Afghanistan and has an exceptional quality. The wool is handspun and has a very high durability. The experience of the dyers is such that they can recreate naturally faded colors with the use of chemical wash. The Samarkand carpets have approximately 160.000 knots per m2.
