Magnificent Khorassan Soumak kilim with deep red colors. It has a size of 248 cm. long by 165 cm. wide. The Khorassan kilims are originally from Persia and manufactured by nomads. The nomads use the wool from their own sheep and color the wool it themselves.
The Khorassan kilims are originally from Persia and manufactured by nomads. The nomads use the wool from their own sheep and color the wool it themselves. The Khorassan kilims use the famous soumak technique. The soumak technique makes the kilim useable only from one side as the back of the kilim is left ragged. The additional thickness of the soumak kilims make them more durable to intensive use compared to the classical kilims.
